World Class Fitness in 100 words
Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, C&J, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports.

How does CrossFit Work?

Essential to the CrossFit concept is balanced competency in the ten general physical skills:

  • Cardiovascular/Respiratory endurance
  • Stamina
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Power
  • Speed
  • Coordination
  • Agility
  • Balance
  • Accuracy

Our WOD's (Workout of the Day) ensure that all of these skills are developed through the means of constantly varied, functional movements executed at a high intensity.

Is CrossFit Right For Me?

Because CrossFit is a model built on inclusive, broad general fitness and is universally scalable, it is right for everyone! The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandmothers differ only by degree, not type! We make sure all members have a solid foundation in the basic functional movements that are at the heart of the Crossfit method. We preach mastery before intensity.

How often should I workout at CrossFit Providence?

To maximize results we suggest training 3 days in a row, followed by one day of rest. This ensures proper programming, progression, and recovery. If you can only make it in 2 or 3 times per week though, do it, You will still see great benefits.
